COTODAMA has released 40 types of Pauly models in limited quantities.

This collaboration expresses the fundamental question of what makes a speaker a “device that evokes memories and emotions,” as well as one possible answer to that question. In addition to the COTODAMA Speaker's original lyrics display function, which awakens feelings buried deep in the heart, the collaboration with Pauly has resulted in the fusion and implementation of the universal languages of music and art at an extremely high level.
Pauly Font
Features a handwritten font created by Pauly. When music is played, the lyrics are displayed in Pauly's font.
*Only the alphabet is available in the Pauly font.

Instrumental Mode
When playing songs without lyrics, Polly's artwork is visualized in response to the music. The COTODAMA technical team aimed to create a sense of immersion in a psychedelic world.

Standby Mode
When music is not playing, the performance is designed to provide catharsis. Please note that people in an unstable mental state may become confused or panic.

Artist's Commentary
This work was created in the summer of 2023. After a period of isolation, I returned home to reconnect with my roots and relationships. As time passed, I realized how much had changed. The children I knew had grown into teenagers, and I was in the process of learning what each of them was interested in now. They were all so unique and full of personality.
I have always been deeply interested in the influence of subculture on the worldview and perspective of teenagers. Reflecting on the things I was passionate about and incorporated into my life at the time, I shared with them how those elements still resonate within me, transcending time.
This work was created in a place that felt like a rural house in the middle of nowhere. For weeks, the temperature remained close to 40 degrees Celsius, and with no clear direction for where to go next, I naturally began to engage with this work through the time I spent with the children and my sister.
Looking back now, this work is a collage of illustrations that pay homage to “youth,” “the perspective and ideas of adolescence,” “growing older,” “subculture,” and the ‘family’ and “people” that have been present at various turning points in my life. “music,” and “visual imagery” that have been present at various turning points in my life. I enjoy creating “polarized” images that seem as though they were made by multiple people of different ages and backgrounds, using various techniques, styles, and mediums. However, in reality, all of this was created by a single person—myself. This work is an attempt to visually compile and express the interests and styles I have accumulated throughout my life in my own unique way.
